Sloppy Amp ????

dcurtis's picture

Hey folks.......just had our second rehearsal and it went great. I took your advice, loosened up and had fun with it. As a result I sounded better.... My problem is my amp is changing its settings during play. I looked over half way through and the volume was on full blast and base, mid and treble was changed. I am pretty sure I didnt do it carrying it in. Also, I played enough better that I am getting a little cocky. We play mostly 70's and 80's classic rock. What is the best bass for that style. I am using an old Ibanez gsr190 from a starter pack with a Hartke hs1200 amp. thanks David

i dont think....

it matters as much bass for the style of music as much as it matter bass to style of YOU....if you like the feel and sound of your bass and amp then it is the right one....

It might be vibration moving

It might be vibration moving the controls. Try putting a strip of tape across the controls to stop them moving. That will confirm the diagnosis and allow you to keep using your current amp.

Congrats on the great rehearsal BTW. Sounds like you had a blast.
