I am a new to Bass playing and have an old Peavey T-40 someone gave me. I play alot of guitar and an awful lot of Ukulele. I am an amateur at all and a beginner at the Bass, so I really suck at it....But I know if I practice I can get better. SInce we play alot of uke it would be great opportunity to practice for me if I accompanied along on Bass, since I already know the music and chord changes.
The thing about ukes is they are not real loud. For example when I play along with a guitar I use an old archtop because even cheap flattops overpower them.
The Peavey is so heavy and needs an amp so it would be nice to have an inexpensive acoustic Bass to drag along when we play. Any suggestions on something that would work? I've read some postings on the acoustics and played a few. I know they are not very loud, but since the uke isn't that loud I am thinking that maybe I could get by with an el-cheapo. I am not out to impress anyone with name brands since I play a uke, I am over that. (I could pull out a $2,000 Kamaka uke and to most folks I'm just a dork with a uke.)
To give you an idea on what I want to do, here is my first bass line with ukes(It was only my second recognizable bass line): http://www.mediafire.com/?2h3mmjgffw2
Any suggestions or rye comments would be appreciated.
