Took a lot of searching but I finally found the one I wanted that said Epiphone rather then Gibson so it was 1/3 the price. For a 6'er she sounds and plays nicely .
Shouln't you be posting this on Wholenote....hehehehe! Looking good Hazz! One of these days I'm breaking down and getting one too. It's about #57 on my list of things to buy.
Thanks, all. I was very surprised at the detail that went into the guitar. Maybe I just got a good one but it is flawless (unless you consider made in some other country a flaw). What I really like is the tone she puts out through my 1x15. Yes Irun her thorough my bass rig and it is a sweet sound.
That sure is a funny looking bass. Very nice. Congrats
If you think it looks funny you should here how it squeaks rather then rumbles ;)

Never been to Whore ... I mean Wholenote. I got a couple other geeter forums I have been apart of for ohhhh 6 or 7 years.
This is actually my third geeter. One I bought as a collector item, one is torn apart waiting for me to solder in the p-ups(has been for a year now :'( , and now this one.
You think they could stuff one more pup into that thing Hazz? lol
Nice looking guitar though.
Well, maybe not one more P-up but perhaps I will add some piezo's to the bridge ;P

It was originally made in '61, right when they pissed Les Paul off for putting his name on some geeters with out his knowledge and at the same time Fender's Strat was out selling the Gibson.
I was surprised about the color when she arrived. All the pics I have seen it either looked more like pearl white OR a lot more bone white. In person it is very Ivory looking and all the gold hardware really stands out.
Good seein' ya back.

I love the color! Probalby was pearl white back in the day. My Fender (originally pearl white) has aged to a tobacco yellow.
How's she play? I haven't played an SG in a long time. I only have two electric geetars these days. One is a tele, the other is a '65 Kay semi-hollow body.
Very nicely she does play. ;) The string spacing is a lot closer then on my ESP so it takes a bit more concentration to get the chords right but the neck is fast and I find my self dong more lead stuff then rhythm.
One sales guy was trying to sell me on a the 2 p-up version and was saying that you really can not hear the difference the third pick up makes but I hear it load and clear. It gives the geeter a lot warmer and growling tone then the two p/up's plus I can control the volume of all three pick ups so I can set up any combination of the three which is nice as well.

p.s. I got another G.A.S.S.eeee bug up me arse and may be getting a LightWave fretless as well. Ever since I bought the fretless G&L I no longer like frets ;)

I saw a review on this three pickup Epi in some magazine. It was an eBay special. It got a great review. Epi has developed a rep for cheap guitars. They deserve it after building the crappy EB0 and EB3 basses. BUT... my Epi Jack Casady bass is very well built and plays and sounds great.
BTW... Hot Tuna will be in town at a small club and I'm going. If I spend $40 for a ticket I get to do the "meet & greet" thing. I think I may pay it to meet Jack.
Hot Tuna? Hearing that reminds me of a time when a friend of mine decided to toast a tuna sandwich right next to the intake for the building air conditioning.
Thanks Pete. The SG is my favorite Gibson but I went with the Epi because I have heard good things about their guitars and the only Gibson I could find was emerald green with metallic green flakes but it was not the color that turned me off but rather the 4K price tag along with the color as I wanted the white. ;)
