Looks like there are two chat options for Drupal 4.6.x (which is what we're running):
The second one looks pretty amazing and supposedly works with the login system (so your chat names = your user names). What do you think? Shall we kick the current beta to the curb (or kerb, for you Brits) and try one of these shiny new gadgets?

phpfreechat is a bust...
It looks like good software, but mediatemple.net's PHP "safe mode" restrictions keep it from working. The mediatemple folks are moving away from "safe mode" in their next big server upgrade--and I've been very happy with them as a host--but, for the moment, this script won't work. I'll try the other now.
