Testing the "Quote" module

Just installed the quote module. Now let's see if it's any good.

Pretty lame...

Pretty lame. It really just defines some BBcode-ish tags that give quotations special formatting. But you still have to manually copy/paste the text you want to quote, as far as I can tell:

[quote]Just installed the quote module. Now let's see if it's any good.[/quote]

But what's with the reports from some of you that you can't copy texts in posts? I did it above, and the "jamesnotjim" account is a regular user account (no admin privileges). You can also do a quote with an attribution. Just use quote=nameofauthor in the opening tag:

[quote=wheat]Just installed the quote module. Now let's see if it's any good.[/quote]

Let's see if using quotation marks around the author's name in the attributions confuses it:

[quote="wheat"]Just installed the quote module. Now let's see if it's any good.[/quote]

Ah, not bad. Might be useful after all. Try it out, let me know.

Re: Pretty lame...

Wait a sec. It's far cooler than I thought. It adds a "quote" button that sets up the quote for you. So, if you want to reply via quoting, click "quote" rather than reply (it handles nested quotations very nicely, too):
