Went to see Nickelback, Staind and Daughtry last night at Hersheypark Stadium. Although not a huge fan of any of the above I enjoyed the evening thoroughly.Daughtry was a contestant on American Idol last year and although he did not win he has become one of the shows most sucessful products and only rocker. And rock he did! Staind was excellent, came out said "good evening" rocked thier asses off, said "thank you" and made way for Nickelback, who put on quite a visual show, includind a tribute song and video clip of Dimebag Darryl among kicking out their most popular tunes. The sound was excellent with the exception of Stainds vocals being a tad muddy to begin with and Daughtrys bass player buried in the mix. There were an estimated 30,000 bodies on hand, none of which should have left dissapointed. I figure if I wait as long as I did this time to go to another show I'll be 72. Can't see that happening.
Sounds like ya had yer self
Sounds like ya had yer self a good time there Rick. I would have thought Nickleback would have opened for Staind though. I like both bands but I would think Staind is just a bit more popular.

sounds like
Sure did Hazz. Not that I didn't respect either band before but I have a whole lot more for them now. I love Staind's "Been a While", they blew me out of the water with that one. The common impression of myself,my better half, and the kids was that they sounded "just like the record".

That is one of the things i like about them as well.
The only thing about Staind I do not like and it is no fault of theirs, a year after they "made it" the Mrs and I were on a pack trip through the high Sierras and since we were on horse back we were able to get farther back them most folks there. The cook that was with us was a 21yr old Canadian girl who was in love with Staind and when every thing was all quiet on the front, off in the distance you could hear echo's of "Im on the outside, I'm looking in. I can see through you . . ."
She did not know the lyrics to any of the other songs so she would sing that one over and over. Needles to say after that, when ever I heard "Outside" all I heard was her voice. ;)

Get the Hell out Bro... I didn't know you were going to this. Was this one with the chillens?
Dave
What it be like!!
I kept forgetting about it everytime I talked to you. Yep, kids went, Michelle went, we all loved it. Had to walk a good distance but a little exercise never hurt anyone! I'm guessing Daughtrys' record sales are going to skyrocket during this tour. He was real good. Seemed like everyone loved him.
It was that damn blimp that
It was that damn blimp that distracted you... otherwise I'm sure you would have told me. It's OK Bro, I'll just read about it on the web....LOL!
*subject change* Donna is out of her coma! They were talking about pulling the plug and she pulled through! Unbelievable!!!
Dave
Talk about a close call !!
Wow, there is a FINE line between life and death, isn't there? A pull of a plug away.....Its great she recovered.
Amen Bro! She's still got a
Amen Bro! She's still got a long road home though.

I hope
she gets herself better. Life is too short as it is. Is she aware of what has happened, the day,her name, all that stuff?
She's a little foggy on the
She's a little foggy on the days. You don't go into a coma for a month or so and wake up and know it's Thursday....LOL! But, yes she has retained pretty much everything. She's aware of what happended prior remarkable as it is. She wasn't in the best state of being BEFORE the coma. The fact that she has lived this long has got to be an act of God... or Satan.... You pick which one. Maybe just one of those things I guess. I get a call one day saying if I want to see her before she dies I better get my ass to the hospital. The next day I get a call that says she's responsive. Life's a funny thing like that.

I got that exact same call last Friday. Grandma, who is 99, is juuust about to go (they have been saying that for the last 10 years though) and pops gives me a call saying if we would like to see her one last time we better get over to her place as soon as we can.
He says, you might not want to bring the kids though (that would be another thread ummm. ..) and tells me she is completely unresponsive and somewhat describes what she is looking like.
It was super late and the kids were just about asleep so we waited 'till the morning, head over there and she was bright, alert, eating, speaking and being her usual self.
I could draw the story out but I wont.
Well, one last note, she is "ready to go", her words exactly, but she can not understand why she is being kept here. No machines keeping her going so it is not like she can say unplug me but she does not understand why it is taking so long.
Ok, thats all for now.

Ain't it strange how it
Ain't it strange how it works like that. I've seen the greatest men I've known taken down by the smallest things. Then some of the frailest individuals live an extremely long life. We just never know do we? The only thing we know for sure about life is none of us are getting out of it alive.
