I've had this fine product for about two weeks now. Right out of the box it sounded amazing. I have done the fine tuning and the tone I can achieve from my Fender Marcus Miller is amazing. Deep, lush, solid clear tones. Reminds me of motown. I run it with an Avatar B410 Neo and B115H Neo. Very simple and easy features to use, nothing complicated. The "drive" dial is a tube emulator and works damn good, I have the eq set pretty flat with a little more sub-bass (6) and bass (6.5) and the drive set to 7 for just a little bit of the dirt.

That is a sweet looking head

I own a R600 red line series I bought used. I love it (although I need to get it fixed, input but no output) I can't believe they are not more popular, they have been around forever and are much less expensive than comparable brands. Saw a band last week whose bass player had an R1000 series, though.

Fixing it is complicated

Fixing it is complicated Bro. First you have to buy a case of Heineken. Then you need to transport said case to Magaro Machines, Inc. Be sure you buy it cold! Then you hand said owner of Magaro Machines, Inc a cold Heieneken.... let him get at LEAST three quarters of the way through that first Heineken.... then tell him the problem and I'm sure he will be able to fix said problem, point you in the right direction to solves said problem, or simply get drunk and tell you that there IS no problem....LOL!

Bring it back when I get back from Canada and I'll have a look at it for you Cracker!

Sounds like a winer B1. When

Sounds like a winer B1. When I was amp shopping I narrowed it down to the B800 and the Peavey Tour 750. I went with the Peavey just for the extra 250w but it was a tough decision.

My next amp, if I do not get the Trace Elliot, will be the B1500. They definitely have a nice sound to them.

Sounds like like a winner

Sounds like like a winner alright, why do they do that with the numbers on amps? they always use a number on the front that dosn't corospond with the wattage, like with this one; B800 and it's 500 watts, I've got a GK RB1001 and it 750 watts and a Behringer Ultrabass BXL3000 and thats 300 watts, I had a Fender BXR300 a while back and thats the only one I can think of right now that was true to the numbers on the front. I see this on most amps, I know it makes their numbers look better but is their any other reason?

Another thing, I was talking to a very well knowen amp builder and he was saying that most amps arn't even close to wattage that they say they are, this is the case with about 90% of amps, the cheaper the amp the worse the difference. He was telling me about my Behringer amp witch I knew was under powerd but I got it cheap, some Uni students in the US did a test on it and found the it only produced 180 watts when it's rated at 300.

Anyone know why this can happen.

B1 is being modest.

B1 is being modest.

The B800 pushes 800w into a 2 ohm load, but he has 2 x 8 ohm cabs so the head is pumping out 500w into a 4 ohm load.

Why didn't anyone warn me you needed to be a physicist to be a bassist? Mention ohms to a guitar player and you'll just get a
blank stare! LOL

Yea yea, true!!! hahahaDo

Yea yea, true!!! hahaha

How does this work with my amp? Mine don't goe to 2 ohms but if it could what would it be watts wise?
Here's the details: 1001RB-II Specifications
Main Amp-700W@4ohm, 460W@8ohm, 1kHz -- Horn Amp-50W@8ohm, 5kHz

I use two 400 watt 8 ohm cabs.
It looks to me like I'm using 700W + 50W(horn) at 4ohms.
sound right???????????????

This is how it works when

This is how it works when you take yer amp down below 4ohms

She's a beauty B1!

She's a beauty B1!

If I hadn't stumbled across the deal on my NOS Peavey Nitrobass head we'd probably have matching amps right now. We're using a Carvin power amp (2 x 500w) for our PA and it sounds amazing. I suppose if Carvin started selling through conventional retail channels the prices would skyrocket, just as well that they're the world's worst kept secret.
