I have always used D'Addario

I have always used D'Addario except for one time I gave the Elixir Nanowebs a shot and they were waaay to bright for my liking.

I am thinking of giving a set of Rotosound Jazz Bass 77's a shot.

I tried Roto flats on my fretless, but I didn't like them. I like the D'Addario half-rounds. Those are a good compromise between flats and roundwounds. Too expensive, though. So I'm playing the Hartke roundwounds on the fretted and fretless.

I use GHS Bright Flats on my fretless and I have yet to change the string on my Marcus Miller Jazz, that's about three years or so. I did allot of experimenting with the fretless and found that the (now hard to find) GHS strings gave me a solid, deep tone.

It is funny though that they sound different on the P-Bass as compared to the Peavey 5er.

Maybe that is because the P-bass is better suited to play the blues and the Peavey is better for funk. ;^D

Lately, I've been playing

Lately, I've been playing Hartke strings, but I swear they're just D'Addario clones. They're very close in feel and a bit less expensive. But I've used D'Addarios for years, so I gave them my vote.

Good quiz, Ann.

I use D'Addarios only

I use D'Addarios only becouse I get them cheap as chips and they make super longs that I need for a 35" S L bass.

I just put some Elixirs on

I just put some Elixirs on my Slammer. I am in love with them. I used DRs and GHS before and liked 'em, but those Elixirs are something else. They made the Slammer sound better!

That's great Ann. It's always nice to find strings you really like. I've been a Rotosound man ever since the first time I used them. I've tried others but always gone back to Rotos. Never had the chance to try Elixers though.
