PRESS RELEASE: April 2012
The Institute of Contemporary Music Performance, in partnership with their industry sponsors, held a series of scholarship live finals last week in which places worth over £30,000 were awarded for the Institute’s renowned Higher Diploma course.
For the Bass Scholarship, sponsored by Ernie Ball Music Man and Bass Guitar magazine, each finalist had an interview with a panel of judges followed by a five minute live performance with their fellow finalists and guests in the audience. The Institute is now delighted to announce that the award of the 2012 Bass Scholarship has been made to Tiffany Burow.
Tiffany impressed the judges not only with playing ability but also her commitment to her instrument and her honesty in her pursuit of a career in music. Judge on the day and Institute Bass tutor John Currie had this to say: ‘She had a very committed and enthusiastic attitude, showed an appreciation of a variety of styles and was the one candidate we felt would benefit most overall from the course’
Tiffany will now receive a full scholarship onto the Higher Diploma bass course starting in September, worth £5,450, with runner-up Jacopo Rossi receiving a partial scholarship worth £2,500.
