PRESS RELEASE: JANUARY 2010
ICMP BASS STUDENT RECORDS WITH COLDPLAY PRODUCER, KEN NELSON
London’s Institute of Contemporary Music Performance (ICMP) Bass Degree student, Chloe Treacher and her band, Unkle Bob, recently embarked on a three-week recording session at Parr Street Studios in Liverpool. With the studio famous for being home to such artists as Moby, Stereophonics, Gomez, Badly Drawn Boy, Pulp and Take That, Chloe found herself in very good company. Adding to the excitement, their record was produced by the legendary Ken Nelson, whose credits include Coldplay, Feeder, Embrace, The Charlatans and Paolo Nutini to name a few.
Chloe tells us; “The idea was to make a really vibey live record” and that “Ken's attention to detail was obvious from the word go and seems to be a big part of his magic”. Although she took all her basses, the management team mentioned that Echo and the Bunnymen keep all their gear in Parr Street and she was able to use their 'Vintage Fender Precision Bass'. With great advice and dynamic surroundings, the band found they had 9 great tracks down by the end of the first week.
With credits that already include over 100,000 downloads, tracks featured on hit shows including ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ and ‘CSI’, and tours with Travis and The Feeling, the band are no strangers to critical acclaim. Their upcoming album, to be released this year, will no doubt bring even more great things for Unkle Bob!
