I've just enabled caching, which should help with some performance issues (at least ones that are not beyond our control). Drupal's caching scheme serves up a file-based copy of the site to unauthenticated visitors (i.e. search engine traffic), while serving up live data from the database for authenticated users (i.e. everyone who is logged in). Since the majority of hits are from unauthenticated users, this frees up the DB to serve up content more quickly to those of you who have accounts and log in.
We'll see how it goes. Let me know if there are problems or if this helps. Performance issues are hard to troubleshoot, because they can be server-related, network-related, or machine specific. But, I'll do what I can to server up BPing goodness to you quickly and accurately.
