Note to Admins: block, don't delete

wheat's picture

I just cleared the backlog of user accounts. A few looked dodgy but didn't have the usual signs of bogus accounts. So keep an eye out. If you find one running amuck, do one of these things:

1) Block his/her account (Administer -- User Management -- Users. Then click the user's name from the list, click the Edit button, change status from "active" to "blocked" and submit the form).

2) PM me, letting me know the username

3) Email me about the same.

Thanks,

Wheat

Oops, my bad. I think I deleted a couple not long ago...or maybe it was a long time ago. I've slept since then. Sorry Wheatster, did I break something?

No, nothing is broken. But I've seen it break some things in the past. So I'm trying to avoid that.

I'd agree with you if we

I'd agree with you if we were talking about analog mixing. But, in this case, not so much. :)

I've recently installed some scripts that allow me to automate database backups. I've run them manually and they work. I just need to set a schedule for them now. Having a weekly backup of the data will make me feel more comfortable with things, though the DB has been very stable over the life of the site.
