Goovy. I actually upgraded it right before I'm leaving town, which is probably not a best practice. :) But it'll survive until Sunday evening. And I have good backups if it doesn't.

My old desktop PC died last

My old desktop PC died last week so I'm viewing this on a newer machine running WinXP. It's been a nightmare setting this OS up to do what I need but it seems OK now.

Trouble was when I logged into this site I thought XP was doing something wierd until I read your post about upgrading.

That's funny, Paul. It does take a while to line WinXP out. So much silly eye candy to turn off. So many "features" to disable.

Exactly. And it's a huge memory hog. I had to get in and manually assign memory spaces for certain processes to get it to run stably. So much for 'user friendly'.

Yeah, as I recall, getting the swap space/virtual memory settings right was a huge improvement, performance wise. Switching to AVG Free anti-virus helped a lot, too.

It seems only the default theme has all the links, menus etc etc etc and the other themes, well, they are lacking.

True. I tried out our old

True. I tried out our old theme, and it didn't print any of the menus. I think, for now, I'm going to disable all the themes except the one I'm using as the default. Maintaining multiple themes is a real time suck. Once I have this one lined out, I might pick another and see if I can get it rolling.
